The power of the seascape — the wind, the waves and the tidal waters create an environment that can be experienced in many different ways.
Waitemata waters
Wai te mata — sparkling waters referring to obsidian glass like charactersitics reflecting off the water surface. The Waitemata was and still is the main accesss by sea to Auckland approached down the Rangitoto Channel.
Mangawhai waters
Mangawhai — the river of Te Whai
Mangawhai was one of the main access by sea to the Kaipara approached down the estuary.
